Asi Mbojo (Bima Sultanate Palace)

Kingdom Mbojo (Bima), which entered in one record the travel history of Indonesia up to now still leave a palace that had become the palace of the sultans’s of Bima. Bima In Historical Perspective

Bima, or which is also called "Dana Mbojo" has undergone a long journey and much rooted in history. According to the legend as set forth in "Book of BO" (codex Kingdom and the Sultanate of Bima), arrival of a traveler and Javanese nobleman whose surname "Sang Bima" on the island Satonda forerunner descendants of the kings of Bima and the onset of early pre-historic era in the land of Bima. This federation agreed to lift Bima as the leader. The de-jure, "Sang Bima" accepted this appointment, but the de-facto he handed again over his authority to Ncuhi Dara to govern on behalf of him.

Potential and Opportunity of Bima City

Bima City has the potential of natural resources that supported land and climate conditions are suitable for agricultural development. The potential that there are support programs developed in the sector of food crops, plantations and farms to create food needs of the community. The main commodity crops Bima City is Rice, Maize and Soybean. But as the development time, caution is warranted in the use of agricultural land for resettlement and housing. Industries in the Bima city is a small industry with a number of business units as much as 768 units and provide employment for 1959 people. The number of industries specified by type of craft is the wood industry as much as 228 units, metal/precious metal as much as 113 units, woven cloth 31 units, 230 units of food and other types of business people as much as 166 units. Meanwhile, the number of households as many as 860 industrial units with a total workforce of 2659 people.

While the tourism sector represents a huge potential to be developed, considering the support of several other sectors. The tourism sector is a potential multi-sector, certainly support and coordination between the field is something to be access to an optimal implementation of tourism activities. Bima City Overview

The Bima city is geographically located on Sumbawa island in the eastern part of the position of 118° 41″00 East Longitude and 8° 3″00 South Latitude. Northern boundary is bordered by District Ambalawi Bima Regency, the east by District Wawo Bima regency, the south by District Belo Bima Regency and the west bordering the Gulf of Bima.
The total area is 222.25 km² Bima city which is divided into 5 (five) districts, namely RasanaE Barat District, District Asakota, District Mpunda, District Raba and RasanaE Timur. Based on a complete enumeration census in 2010, the total population is 142,443 people Bima City, consisting of a total of 69,841 men and 72,602 people who the female population. Judging from the distribution of population, Raba District has the highest population that is equal to 34,756 persons; followed by District Mpunda for 32,531 people; District RasanaE Barat for 31,039 people; District Asakota 27,931 people and RasanaE Timur Districts of 16,196 people.

Comparison of the number of men and women (sex ratio) results of 2010 Population Census at Bima City amounted to 96.20%, means a higher female population 3.80% of total male population. Of the 5 (five) districts are mostly sex ratio below 100%. Only District Asakota who have sex ratio over 100% is equal to 101.19%. Districts that have a sex ratio was lowest for the District Mpunda of 89.95%. That is, the population numbers of women in District Mpunda 10.05% higher than the male population.
The inhabitants’s livelihood of the Bima City was dominated by the sector of social services, that is equal to 27.95% of the total population, while the trade sector, Hotels and Restaurants of 23.34%, Agricultural sector 15.87%, the sector Transportation, Storage and Communication of 14.15%.
